A transcription is the translation of music in audio format into sheet music format. The term desgrabación is the one that tango musicians use more commonly instead of transcription. The transcriber considers, using general and personal criteria, what elements are necessary to transcribe into the score. When transcribing, harmony, melody and the form of the arrangement are considered fundamental elements. From there, orchestration, voicing, dynamics, character, rhythm will be taken into account, to a greater or lesser extent…
I think a lot about the importance of transcriptions in the world of tango. I remember how, when I was starting to play in tango orchestras, the lack of arrangements or transcriptions was a problem for all of us, the beginners without an institutional training space. The possibility of having references and quality material would have made a difference to be able to work in particular orchestral styles and not a medley of what we could obtain.
It is for this reason that I make available my adaptations from different tango orchestras. The adaptations are in PDF format, with the complete score and the individual parts for each instrument.
I would like this work, which will be updated, corrected and enhanced regularly as much as possible, to be available for free use by anyone who needs it.

Hola Mundo! Desgrabaciones de Tango para Todxs está aquí
Una desgrabación es una transcripción de música en formato audio a formato partitura. El termino desgrabación es el que utilizamos lxs músicxs de tango de manera más común antes que transcripción. El transcriptor considera, utilizando criterios generales y personales, cuáles son los elementos necesarios a transcribir en la partitura. A la hora de transcribir, se consideran elementos fundamentales la armonía, la melodía y la forma del arreglo. A partir de ahí, se tendrán en cuenta, en mayor o menor medida, orquestación, voicing, dinámicas, carácter, ritmo….
Pienso mucho en la importancia de las desgrabaciones en el mundo del tango. Recuerdo cómo, cuando comenzaba a tocar en orquestas típicas, la falta de arreglos y desgrabaciones era un problema para todxs nosotrxs, los «iniciantes» sin un espacio de formación institucional. La posibilidad de contar con referencias y material de calidad hubiese hecho una diferencia para poder trabajar en estilos de orquestas típicas en particular y no un popurrí de lo que podíamos conseguir.
Es por este motivo que pongo a disposición mis adaptaciones de tangos de diferentes orquestas típicas. Las transcripciones están en formato PDF, con la partitura completa y las partes individuales de cada instrumento.
Me gustaría que este trabajo, que en lo posible será actualizado, corregido y acrecentado con regularidad, esté disponible para el libre uso de quien lo necesite.
